Claire Rame is a Scottish storyteller & poet with an abiding sense of wonder about how lives unfold.  For as long as she can remember, she's had the curious feeling of standing outside the life she was expected to want.  While others seemed able to settle into familiar paths, she found herself moving towards unfamiliar places, unexpected communities and experiences that gradually reshaped how she understood both the external world and the life within her.

She couldn't always stay, however much she wanted to.

At the time she rarely understood why, and neither did those around her. Yet, with distance, those departures became part of a much larger story and only years later did the pattern reveal itself.

Returning to questions that have accompanied her throughout her life: how we become more fully ourselves, how place shapes us, and why the threads of our lives only become visible when looking back.
