Lullabrae is where the Wee Braes dwell among rounded hills, rugged edges and winds that seldom settle. From the Story Glen come Scottish tales of their lives, their missteps and courage - told for folk who have weathered storms and know that gentleness can hold its ground.
What is the Story Glen?
The Lullabrae Story Glen is an online gathering for adults drawn to Scotland, comfort and lore.
It is a place to pause, coorie in and listen as the world of the Wee Braes unfolds through stories shaped by the land, its weather and the enduring wisdom carried between generations.
The Story Glen opens freely from time to time. When it does, you may find a new Lullabrae tale,
Scottish landscapes, gentle folklore inspired themes and poetry read by Claire.
There may even be a dulcimer tune or two - whatever the wind happens to carry in.
Four Gentle Beings
There were four of them in Lullabrae - old in their own ways, yet still learning about the world and themselves. They were gentle, hopeful beings, though courage did not always look the way they expected.
Formed by the Island
Each Wee Brae rose from a different part of the Island. Shore, wood, air and hill had shaped them differently, leaving each with their own nature, gifts and curious way of meeting whatever arrived.
The Strength of Softness
Like many wee folk, they were learning not to harden themselves against the world, but to honour the softness that had formed them - and discover that gentleness, when tested, could hold its ground.
